INSTITUTIONAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
Our team of experienced insurance industry specialists focus on advising you on the most appropriate strategy, tailored for your business in the most effective and capital-efficient manner.
Our Specialist Areas
We work to create individual investment portfolios structured around the specific needs of each captive. Portfolios are structured and actively managed to prioritise sufficient claims cash flow and protect the value of the captive’s assets. We manage over US$1bn of assets* for captive insurers globally. More than ever, captive insurers need objective advice on the right investment allocation for their portfolios.
With our adviser-led asset management approach, we give advice that is in the best interests of our clients. Our multi-asset offering has the same fee regardless of the asset class invested in.
Smaller insurers tend to fall below the radar of larger asset managers and consultants who often do not have the focus or resources to deal with them. Our segregated portfolios are designed around the needs of cell captives and reinsurance companies giving smaller captives the chance to benefit from the same investment philosophy and expertise available to larger captives. Our minimum investment for this service is $250,000/€200,000.
We manage assets on behalf of insurers globally and our team of experienced industry specialists focus on providing our clients with an advice-led service that sets us apart from our competitors. Our dedication to the insurance sector means we understand the unique aspects of the market and its various regulatory demands.
Our team of relationship managers, actuaries, ex-CIOs and investment professionals draw on their insurance expertise. This provides you with an end-to-end service that helps identify and define your requirements, establish suitable guidelines and risk tolerances. It enables us to construct portfolios within risk and capital budgets, while provide a full suite of regulatory and strategic reporting.
We developed our trust-compliant investment offering designed specifically for Auto F&I Reinsurers. We invest directly in individual securities, increasing transparency. Our in-house investment team actively manage portfolio risk and opportunity, offering clients genuine portfolio diversification and daily liquidity. We target a 4% annualised return (gross of fees) over the long term but with just one-third of the volatility of the S&P 500 Index.
We like to keep things simple so we have one transparent fee, which covers the entire cost of running the portfolio.
Investment managers often create administrative difficulties for dealers and their F&I agents. We’ve worked hard to provide a great offering that makes life as easy as possible for all portfolio stakeholders. We ensure the ongoing administration is as straightforward as possible and that portfolio reporting is always available online and on demand.
Today mutual and co-operative insurers represent 24% of the world’s insurance market. A commitment to serving its customers’ long-term interests instead of focusing on short-term shareholder profits has underpinned the sector’s solid results and growth.
Entrust your assets to a manager who shares your values. Our focus on long-term capital preservation as well as our expert knowledge of the new risk-based capital requirements and tighter corporate governance standards mean you – and your members – will be in safe hands.
As insurance specialists we know that Lloyd’s syndicates have specialised investment management needs which require expertise and experience from their investment managers. Multiple trust funds in a variety of currencies, combined with multiple sets of regulations can appear to limit investment choices. Because the capital which backs syndicates is usually kept in separate portfolios, sometimes not directly controlled by the managing agency, we know that the volatility of syndicate investment returns needs to be kept low, and that many syndicates have formal limits on annual investment losses.
Our one transparent fee includes the provision of advice about risk appetite, strategic asset allocations, and the use of the Clearwater investment accounting suite to provide you with daily access to a full set of investment compliance, regulatory and accounting reports, all compliant with US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS requirements.
