Charitable Foundation
At London & Capital we understand that there is more to charity than just giving money. We believe in acting responsibly and getting involved. As part of our proactive approach to corporate social responsibility, we set up the London & Capital Foundation in 2005. Apart from donating money to worthy causes, the Foundation also gives London & Capital staff the opportunity to offer time and resources to selected local charities. We focus on opportunities to assist under-privileged children so they are able to grow and contribute to the social health of their local communities.
“to help relieve poverty and
sickness in children worldwide”
As we receive a large volume of charitable proposals, we have set-up a committee of Trustees to investigate projects which support the Foundation’s mission, values and aims. When monies have been donated to a project, activities carried out are monitored by the Foundation and our aim is for one of the Trustees or members of staff to conduct an onsite visit. The Foundation is popular with our staff as it offers an opportunity to give something back to communities while providing a sense of personal fulfilment and satisfaction.
The Trustees are drawn from the directors and staff of the London & Capital Group who have so far received donations of over £250,000. We have joined up with Justgiving.com, allowing you to see who is fundraising for the foundation and what they are doing. It's also the easiest way to donate with a simple online process, that even allows those in the UK to take advantage of GiftAid.

At the end of 2008, London & Capital sponsored an exhibition entitled ‘The Triumph of Debt’ by 2002 Jerwood Drawing prize-winning artist Adam Dant - a man who is regarded by some as a modern Dante. Dant spent six months depicting the feverish goings on inside London’s secretive banking, hedge fund, private equity and private client legal worlds and the result is burning bankers and hedgies being stuck in the stocks. As the financial crisis was unfolding, he spent much of his time sitting inside the eye of the crisis, all the time gaining material for his illustrations. His satirical harvest includes such ripe inventions as The Triumph of Debt, The Art of Hedge, The Art Bank, The Art of Law and – among new works for the show – a diptych called ‘Hedge Heaven and Hedge Hell’.The exhibition helped raise funds in excess of £20,000 for the London & Capital Charitable Foundation, which was established in 2006 to help relieve poverty and sickness in children around the globe. Over the last few years, the Foundation has given generously to UK charities such as There4me and Chai Cancer Care, as well as channeling funds further afield into the emerging economies of India and Brazil, targeting the Institute of Indian Mothers and Children in Calcutta and Associação Saúde Criança Renascer in Brazil.
